What is RUSH/RECRUITMENT?
Requirements
All potential new members or aspirants must meet the following criteria prior to the start of rush and/or their pledge process:
- Be at least a second semester freshmen with 12 completed college credits.
- Have at least a 2.5 GPA*
- Complete a Fraternity and Sorority Affairs Intro to Fraternity and Sorority Life 101 (formerly Greek Convocation) on MyInvolvement. The form can be found [here].
Membership Intake
Intake is a process by which members are identified and brought into their new chapter. The MGFC member organizations recruit using the intake process:
Fraternities and Social Fellowships
- Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc.
- MALIK Fraternity, Inc.
- Pi Delta Psi Fraternity, Inc.
- Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity, Inc.
- Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.
- Gamma Rho Lambda National Sorority
- Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.
- Sigma Iota Sigma Multicultural Sorority, Inc.
- Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc.
If you are interested in joining one of these chapters, we invite you to attend MGFC Meet the Greeks. Times, locations, and dates will be announced on MyInvolvement.org, Facebook, and Twitter.
Individual chapters will advertise informational meetings throughout the year. Some chapters only hold intake in the spring and others hold intake both semesters.
Serving the community and mentoring others are the primary focuses of these chapters. Please refer to the chapters’ national websites or contact active members for additional information about the requirements for joining.
